The Jihad in contemporary international relations

Abstract

The Jihad system of all actions and activities that Muslims perform in pursuit of the triumph of their religion has become especially interesting for its warrior version. In European horizon it obtains the characteristics of the world war. Under the influence of the ideas of globalization the Muslims should also be involved in that project and the idea of Jihad consequently became an obstacle. Therefore the Euro-US media trend was to ignore and neglect that idea. There was also a misapprehension that neglecting would make this problem disappear. The situation in Yugoslavia was similar. The Muslim media advocated that idea, as well as the majority of the non-Muslim population. As a result, this phenomenon remained completely unexplored or misinterpreted which finally yielded bad results of the globalization itself.

Džihad sistem svih akcija i postupaka koje muslimani čine da bi ostvarili trijumf svoje vere, postao je posebno interesantan zbog njegove ratničke varijante. Ona u evropskom vidnom polju poprima karakteristike svetog rata. Kako je pod uticajem ideja o globalizaciji valjalo uključiti i muslimane u taj projekt ideja džihada je postala smetnja. Zato je evroamerička praksa u medijima bila da se ova ideja zanemaruje i prenebregava. S pogrešnim uverenjem da će zanemarivanjem i sam problem nestati. U Jugoslaviji je bila slična situacija. Muslimanski mediji su tu ideju skrivali, a najveći deo nemuslimana koji su problem tretirali takođe. Rezultat jeste da je ovaj fenomen ostao potpuno neistražen ili pogrešno predstavljen što u krajnjoj instanci daje loš rezultat za samu globalizaciju.
