Nearly all chapters of Nušić’s Autobiography mention, directly or indirectly, the facts of dying and death. The chapter 'The Army' mentions death when a man’s height is measured. In Nušić’s work, the hero is almost always left with a sense of defeat. If the tragedies end with no possibility of an aftermath, the genre of Autobiography is questionable - it ends with the deceased being interviewed. From a present viewpoint, it can be argued (with many arguments) that we can discern a way from parabolic laughter to tragic allegory.en
