New Komeito example of religious-political parties

Abstract

Politicology of religion is the science that puts special emphasis on religious political parties. New Komeito Party, one of the most influential political parties in Japan is a typical example of religious political parties. It was formed by the Buddhist religious community Soka-Gakai in order to achieve its ideals in Japanese politics. Under public pressure because of the secular character of the society New Komeito formally renounced ties with the religious community. But, essentially, parties continued to fight for the ideals of religious community.

Politikologija religije je nauka koja poseban akcenat stavlja na verske političke partije. Partija Novi Komeito jedna od uticajnijih političkih partija u Japanu je tipičan primer verske političke partije. Formirala ju je budistička verska zajednica Soka-Gakai sa ciljem ostvarivanja njenih ideja u japanskoj politici. Pod pritiskom javnosti zbog sekularnog karaktera društva Novi Komeito se formalno odrekla veze sa verskom zajednicom. Ali je suštinski partija nastavila da se bori za ideale verske zajednice.
