Abstract
Existing models of decentralization in the system of social protection in Serbia have been analyzed in this article. Through exposing the experience of European Union countries and pointing the insufficiencies of actual system of social protection, the most optimal solutions are seek for. The article’s conclusions are recommendations for improving operating system of social protection, which are based on reconditioning miscellaneous centralized-decentralized approach that respects economical, regional, normative and cultural particularity of Serbia.
